India is a great nation, but sometimes i wonder that why Indian youth is so much influenced by foreign (specially western) culture ??
The role of young generation is very important in development of any nation, as in their youth they work for nation’s progress and in later age they’ll become inspiration and think tank for the nation.
Our value system was like you save part of your earning and spend a part but young people are spending much more.
Most of the youth is interested to know about the latest trends, fashion and brands of clothes & cars released into the western market, but no one is interested to develop the same concept and technology in India.
One day i was walking on the way and seen T-Shirts in the showcase of a shop having Michel Jackson’s face painting on it (although i had already seen so many foreign faces on T-Shirts…) My question is that if you ever seen a T-Shirts in any city of India having faces of Jagdish Chandra Bose, M. Visvesvaraya, Vikram Sarabhai, Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussain, or any Indian…!!
I have seen many clothes having text like NYPD (New York Police Department) or NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) but none saying Great Indian Army or ISRO….. why???
Self Respect comes from Self Reliance.
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why??
India is First in Milk Production….
India is second largest producer of wheat and rice….
India is First in Remote Sensing Setellites….
India has moved to third position in the world steel production, after China and Japan during the first five months of 2009.
and many more ….
We have one of the world’s best Cricket Team, Chess and tenniss players….. but no one here has proud on this..even they dont know many of these facts or dont want to realize at all..
In Dr Abdul Kalam’s world:
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don’t work, the railways are a joke,
The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination. YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.
YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?
Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name – YOURS. Give him a face – YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. In Singapore you don’t throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay
$5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity… In Singapore you don’t say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn’t dare to eat in public during
Ramadan, in Dubai . YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds ( Rs.650) a month to, ‘see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.’YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop,
‘Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so’s son.
Take your two bucks and get lost.’ YOU wouldn’t chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand .
Why don’t YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don’t YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ??? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an
involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India ?
Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay , Mr. Tinaikar , had a point to make. ‘Rich people’s dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,’ he said. ‘And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels?
In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job.
Same in Japan . Will the Indian citizen do that here?’ He’s right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.
The summary of the speech is that we should act like we want it should be. It should not be like day dreaming and thinking that someone else will do tasks so that you feel better.
Indian youth specially in metros is highly deviated and inspired by the foreign culture and they dont even know about their own country. I am sure a person who does not realize himself does not have Self Respect.
Take one example, Hindi or some other regional language is our mother tounge but generally young guys and girls in indian metros dont like to have a conversation in hindi.. and also they feel themselves superior and have a feeling of inferiority and ignorance for those who dont know English or prefer to talk in Hindi or any other regional language (more than 20 language are here in India and each one has its rich history and litrature). They think that Indian languages are spoken often only in lower middle class and poor families. This is the greatest myth. And even if this is true one should realize that the person is an Indian, everyone should have liking for citizen of his country.
So-called hi-fi society people don’t remember (perhaps they don’t know… or don’t want to know because they don’t have time.. or much more interested in next Hollywood movie rather nations progress… Ha ha Government will do all for them… what a joke !!!) the speech delivered by Swami Vivekanand in Chicago Conference(in 1893) .. he started with “My dear Brothers and sisters of America….”. And today we have superiority & inferiority complex and disliking for less educated and poor persons in even our own country !! This is really a shameful situation.
I think the situation is due to the reason beacause the youth dont know the glorious history of their own nation, they dont know about the recent inventions and researches carried out here, and moreover they dont want to make a step ahead to make system clean and healthy….
now the First question from the critics will be about so dirty and ill goverened system.. now i will say who is the system..??
You and me, our neighbors and all…if each individual think about this then we can say that whole system is thinking… so this is not the point of concern… The concern is that if each individual will act what he think and dream then at very next moment everyone will see the changed face of our country…
Now its time for each of us to realize and know ourself, to realize our nation and act what we dream for the nation…

असंख्य कीर्ति-रश्मियाँ विकीर्ण दिव्य दाह-सी,
